Judy Larson says, "The magnificent stallion featured in HE DOG pays homage
not only to the "sacred dog", the horse, of the plains Indians, but also to the noble
life of a great Dakota."

The RED HORSE series is Larson's tribute to the great chiefs of the plains
Indians who fought for their lands against army troops in the 1870's that finally
culminated in the battle of the Little Bighorn against George Armstrong Custer
on June 25th, 1876.

Judy Larson has gained international prominence through her mastery of
concealed imagery. Hidden within a large Judy Larson image are other
images that once discerned by the viewer add to the total impact of the work.
